Christopher P. Nelis, D.D.S.

I was raised in Zeeland and graduated from Zeeland East High School in 2006. I attended Hope College where I was a member of the Men’s Varsity basketball team. In 2010, I graduated from Hope College with a degree in Psychology. With a passion to pursue a career in a health science profession, I completed the pre-requisites to apply for dental school. I then attended and graduated from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry in 2016. Upon completing dental school, I accepted a position as a general practice resident in Chicago, IL at Advocate Illinois Masonic. This residency program provided me with additional experience not offered in dental school. These experiences included rotations in oral surgery, anesthesia, emergency medicine, special needs dentistry, operating room experience, and community outreach. My community outreach experience was providing dental services on a mobile dental van which traveled to under-served areas of the greater Chicago area.

It is my goal to apply my experiences in practice at Zeeland Family Dentistry and continue to grow alongside my colleagues. I am enthusiastic about my return to West Michigan, not only to practice dentistry but also to grow my family as my wife and I recently welcomed our firstborn child, Bennett, in April of 2017.
